HSI Pediatric First Aid | CPR AED

This training program prepares participants to confidently respond to medical emergencies involving adults, children, and infants. It is an ideal training solution for schools, childcare providers, youth sports coaches, and others required to learn how to respond to medical emergencies involving children.

Participants develop essential knowledge and hands-on skills in pediatric first aid and CPR/ AED through instructor-led demonstrations, guided practice, and scenario-based problem-solving exercises with feedback.

Updated to reflect the newest guidelines for CPR, the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and first aid, this versatile program offers treatment guidelines for all ages. Course materials include optional child care topics to help meet child care training requirements.

This cours meets the state EMSA guidelines for childcare providers (8 Hours). If your facility has an AED, the class Instructor can provide information and practice on your AED.

This is for the HeartCode BLS Skills verification session ONLY. 

Prerequisites:

  • Completion of online HeartCode BLS module (Part 1). This is required. 
  • Be prepared to provide the HeartCode BLS online course completion certificate to the Instructor.

The session is conducted in-person with an Instructor and lasts about 30-60 minutes. Your digital eCard will be issued and emailed to you on the same day.

BLS Heartcode Blended Course

This course type invloves two steps.

  • Step 1 is an online course by the American Heart Association's (AHA), which allows healthcare professionals to complete a self-paced, interactive eLearning training. An online key is issued by email upon.

  • Step 2 is a mandatory hands-on skills verification session with a certified Instructor at our office to complete the class and receive certification. To schedule your in-person skills verification session (if you have not already done so), please call 650-321-6500 to speak with either Maria or Amelia.
     
    • Please bring a copy of your BLS online course completion certificate.
    • A BLS textbook is not required for the blended course. All of the materials needed is included and available electronically. With succesfful completion of the course, students have access to all electronic materials for the two years of certification.

For individuals, the skills portion can be scheduled at our office in San Carlos. For groups, please call our office for group pricing.

 

Heartsaver CPR AED - Blended

The Heartsaver CPR AED course trains participants to give CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. It is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

Covered Topics Include:

  • High-quality CPR 
  • Concepts of the Chain of Survival
  • How to Recognize when someone needs CPR
  • Administering effective breaths using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups
  • Demonstrations on how to use an AED on an adult
  • Learn when and how to help a choking adult or child

 

This BLENDED course type involves two steps.

Heartsaver Total - First Aid CPR AED (blended) is an American Heart Association course designed for individuals required to take CPR and first aid certification training to meet regulatory and OSHA requirements for their job. Heartsaver Total is the most common course path taken by employees and anyone in the general public who wants to be prepared to act in an emergency.

This blended course is a two-part process.

Part 1. When you have completed your registration you will be assigned an activation key code to get into the online portion. Once you have completed the online portion bring the certificate of completion to your skill verification session.

Part 2. Certificate of Completion of part 1 is required before you attend start your skills session. Your skill session will allow you to practice your skills and then have your skills evaluated by an American Heart Association Instructor. Location: HES Office in San Carlos, CA.

La versión 9.0 de MEDIC FIRST AID de PediatricPlus, RCP, DEA y Primeros Auxilios para Niños, Bebés y Adultos proporciona una solución de capacitación ideal para escuelas, cuidadores de niños, entrenadores de deportes juveniles y otras personas que deban aprender a responder a emergencias médicas que afecten a niños.

Este versátil programa ofrece pautas de tratamiento para todas las edades y está actualizado para reflejar las pautas más recientes sobre RCP, uso de un desfibrilador externo automático (DEA) y primeros auxilios. Los materiales del curso incluyen temas opcionales de cuidado infantil para ayudar a cumplir con los requisitos de formación de cuidado infantil.
